Bobby Speegle's Victim Marked as Property

In June 2012, Bobby Joe Speegle was living in a Muscle Shoals trailer park with a female companion. When an explosion suddenly rocked the small park,  authorities began receiving frantic calls indicating trouble at Speegle's trailer. By the time police and fire arrived, Speegle had put out the flames and disposed of evidence in a nearby wooded area.

Muscle Shoals authorities still managed to make the case against Speegle, throwing in some misdemeanor warrants as well. Initially, the meth master was sent to prison, but was later allowed to serve part of his prison sentence in community corrections where he enjoyed a great deal of unsupervised time.

In fact, Speegle's family and friends stated they didn't know he was still technically incarcerated, and blasted local news outlets which reported on the whereabouts of area prisoners. Eventually, Speegle was indeed free, but his past and an appetite for drugs soon led him to even darker crimes.

At the age of 39 in 2018, Speegle reconnected with a friend named Kevin from his prison past. Kevin allegedly had a thriving business and could supply all the illicit substances Speegle wanted...for a price. Unfortunately, therein lay the problem for the unemployed Speegle.

The Muscle Shoals miscreant soon came up with a plan and, in some manner, secured the physical possession of a 17 year-old girl. He then administered a drug to his victim and presented her to Kevin in payment for his chemicals of choice.

The unfortunate young woman awoke in a Sheffield house being raped by Kevin. She managed to call authorities who arrested both Kevin and Speegle. While the girl was being treated for some serious physical injuries, medical personnel were shocked at what they found.

Ultraviolet light is commonly used in sexual assault examinations to detect the presence of DNA. In the case of the young victim, it turned up much more. Ultraviolet ink, commonly called black ink, can be purchased in pens designed to mark possessions without disfiguring or damaging them. In this case, the ink was used to mark the victim. "Don't touch - Property of Kevin" was found written on the inside of one of the young girl's thighs.  Obviously, Kevin was a man of many kinky tastes.

Now Bobby Joe Speegle has been sentenced for his part in this sex trafficking scheme. Charges were reduced to Promoting Prostitution, and on March 15th, Speegle was sentenced to ten years in the state prison system.

Will Speegle's family again defend him and deny his guilt or the results of his crime? Fortunately for the public, they are not the ones to decide his fate.
