Federal Prison Transfer for Former Florence Escapee

From a 2018 news report:

A Florence man who escaped from the Lauderdale County Detention Center twice in 2017 is now serving a federal prison sentence. Christopher Wayne Kilpatrick, 45, is currently housed in the McCreary Federal Prison in eastern Kentucky.

Kilpatrick ran afoul of the feds during his second escape, and in early 2018 he was sentenced to seven years in a U.S. prison lockup. He will end his stay in the maximum security facility on December 28, 2025. At that time, he will be returned to Alabama to face charges against him here.

Now, Kilpatrick has been transferred to the Thompson federal lockup in Illinois. Both prisons are high security, and most data suggest that transfers are not unusual in the federal system; however, two months have now been added to the Florence felon's sentence. His new release date is February 18, 2026,
