John Calford Stutts, known as Cal, was killed last week during a St. Clair County carjacking. The 28 year-old Stutts had been living in LaGrange, Georgia, since May; however, credit reports indicate the felon had previously resided for eight years on Oak Grove Boulevard in Sheffield.
Stutts had been accused of drug theft in Troup County, Georgia, in 2016; however, local records indicate only minor traffic arrests for Stutts in the Shoals area. Authorities say Stutts threatened police who stopped him after the Alabama carjacking.
