Elk River Village Apartments on Lamb's Ferry Road boast two bedrooms and 1.5 baths. As of 3:30 Wednesday, the apartment complex can also claim fame to being a murder scene.
According to Rogersville police, Curtis James Sherrer (R) shot Larry Wayne Simpson Jr. (L) dead in a drug deal gone wrong. The 36 year-old Simpson, also known as Tickle, was transported to NAMC where he later died.
Authorities took the 22 year-old Sherrer into custody. Sherrer, who is claiming self-defense, is being held on a $150,000.00 bond. According to investigators, Sherrer used a large caliber handgun to kill Simpson - what every young man needs?
Rogersville police then traveled to a home on Lamar Road to collect more evidence. This is a developing story.
